Kovalanmäki Nature Trail

The nature trail runs through the regionally significant cultural landscape with early hillside habitation still in evidence. The trail is 3.5 km long and runs through a varied forest landscape, ascending to the rocky hilltop of Honkamäki.

Starting point/end point

The starting point is located next to Hankasalmi riding school (address Kovalanmäentie 228). The route is marked with red paint markings.

Route length

The easy trail is approx. 3.5 km long and takes 1–2 hours to complete. The trail has some differences in elevation.

Structures

There are information boards along the trail with facts about the nature and history of the area.

Lapp hut or camp fire

There is no lean-to shelter, but there is a rest area on top of Honkamäki hill.
