Ice skating

In the Jyväskylä Region, you can skate throughout the year. You can spend a winter’s day skating along tour skating tracks,including a 2.4-kilometre track on Lake Jyväsjärvi.You can also try one of the many artificial ice rinks, or skating rinks at sports parks – with or without a hockey stick.You can even go skating in the summer if you book the facility of your choice in advance.

Tour skating tracks

  • Jyväskylä
    You can go tour skating or skiing along the track (1.2 to 3.2 km) on Lake Jyväsjärvi. Skates are available for hire from Sports Club Kensu and at the Lutakko harbour cafe (www.matkarhea.fi.
  • Palokka,
    Palokkajärvi 2 km.
  • Vaajakoski,
    Jyskä, Haapalahti 2 km.
  • Muurame

  • You can also find natural ice rinks in sports parks and urban centres in the municipalities of the Jyväskylä Region.
