The Petäjävesi Radio and Telephone Museum houses a truly unique collection of more than 3,000 exhibits and 10,000 documents, covering telephones, audio systems and civilian and military radio equipment as well as espionage techniques and communications. Our oldest radio dates back to 1921, with the oldest Finnish-made radio dating back to 1924. We also have an electron tube from 1918 and a telephone from the 1880s. The museum has exhibitions dedicated to Finland’s most notable radio manufacturers, such as Asa, Helvar and Salora and the licensed manufacturer for Philips. We also have sections showcasing Finnish and international military and professional radio equipment.
Summer opening hours: Sunday to Friday, 11:00–18:00 and Saturdays, 11:00–16:00. Please get in touch if you’d like to visit during winter.
