Haapasaari Nature Trail

Haapasaari is a narrow island approx. 1 km long, connected to Haapaniemi peninsula in Vaajakoski. The highest point on the island is 25 metres above the water level of Lake Päijänne. The nature trail runs 2.7 km around the island through the herb-rich coastline and deciduous forests and ascends to the highest point covered with rocky pine forest.

Starting/finishing point
The starting point and information board are located in the car park in the southern tip of the island.

Length of trail
The nature trail is easy to walk, with only moderate differences in elevation. Allow 1-2 hours to complete the trail. Take the connecting path across the centre of the island to choose the shorter route of 1.7 km.

There are 12 information boards along the trail.
Shelter or barbeque location
There is a campfire place on the western side of Haapasaari island.
