Jyväskylä is city really big on sport and physical recreation which challenges you to get moving – easily, enjoyably and in a whole variety of ways. In the city just about everything is within walking distance or a short bike ride and the opportunities for everyday physical recreation are first class – whether you’re a fan of fresh air or prefer getting some exercise indoors. That feeling of well-being can be topped off at a local spa – either in a warm jacuzzi or enjoying one of the many pampering treatments on offer.

Visit Jyväskylä challenges you to exceed yourself from a sporting point of view and get moving at Jyväskylä’s fabulous recreational locations. Challenge: The Harju ridge

The Harju ridge is one of Jyväskylä's best known landmarks. This is the place for a picnic or a run and the best part is that it's right next to the city centre. Challenge yourself and climb up the Nero stairs. On the top you can admire amazing views opening up towards Jyväsjärvi lake. Challenge: Cycling

In Jyväskylä you can move from one place to another easily on a bike -either with keeping fit in mind or just for fun. Watch the video and see how JJK's Jasin Abahassine spent his day off by taking a trip around Jyväskylä city centre and enjoying the scenery. Take one of the suggested routes or pick out your own favorites along the way.

Challenge: Swimming & Sauna

Sauna represents Finnish folk culture at its very finest and here in Jyväskylä we are in the capital of Central Finland, the number one region for sauna. Here you can even take a sauna in the middle of a lake-on a moving raft! Sit and relax in the sauna and cool down by taking a dip in the lake straight from the sauna.
