Sauna Region Week 6.-15.6.

The Jyväskylä Region Sauna Region Week will be held again in the summer of 2025, and this time bigger than ever before! In the summer of 2025, the sauna region week will warm up from June 6th to 15th, 2025. The World’s Sauna Region welcomes you to experience the gentle steam of Jyväskylä Region’s diverse saunas.

During the summer event, there are dozens of different sauna events throughout the week. During the Sauna Region Week, you can enjoy the warmth of a smoke sauna, pamper yourself with various sauna treatments, try a tent sauna or other interesting sauna destinations at different locations and companies.

Open sauna sessions are usually mixed-gender, so remember to bring a swimsuit and towel. However, you can also rent a towel at many locations. It’s also a good idea to bring a bottle of water and slippers to the sauna session. The one-time fee for open saunas is around 10-25 €. Check the sauna fee and schedule for each location directly on their website.

Route description

  • Revontuli Resort

    During Sauna Week, the Sauna Trail’s smoke sauna, tent sauna and outdoor hot tub will be heated. The sauna is a mixed sauna, so please bring a swimsuit and your own towel. You can borrow slippers from the sauna and if necessary hire swimming suits and towels for €5/each. The smoke sauna has separate changing and shower facilities for men and women. The sauna fee can be payed at the Revontule reception before the event. Bringing your own drinks to the sauna area is not allowed. Water will be provided and non-alcoholic and light alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

  • Piispala

    Open traditional sauna, price 10€/person. Payment at the reception before the event. The sauna is a mixed sauna, so please bring your own towel. The use of the changing room is rotated between the sauna users. The sauna is a traditional sauna with no running water. Drinking water is available at the nearby building. No personal alcoholic beverages are allowed.

  • Nukula

    The wood-fired log sauna offers gentle baths. In between baths, you can take a dip in the Päijänne lake to cool off. The sauna can accommodate 6-8 people at a time. The sauna is a mixed sauna, so please bring a bathing suit and a towel. The maximum number of participants in the morning sauna is 15, so please reserve your place in advance. The sauna is non-alcoholic. In addition to the sauna, the price includes fresh spring water, a sausage for grilling and a crêpe.

  • Varjola

    During the Sauna Region Week, Varjola heats up the smoke sauna and the hot tub on the terrace. If you wish, you can also take a dip in the lake. The sauna is a mixed sauna, so please bring a swimsuit. Basic cleaning products, towels and peflets can be found in the sauna. The use of the shower facilities is shared between the sauna users on a rotating basis. Sauna time is 2 hours. The sauna facilities are a licensed area, so it is not allowed to bring your own alcoholic beverages. It is possible to buy refreshments from the restaurant to take with you to the sauna (cash and card).

  • Tupaswilla

    A guided peat sauna relaxes the body and mind. If you wish, you can take a dip in the nearby pond. You will need a towel, a water bottle and footwear for the dock. To avoid congestion, starting times are staggered. Price 30€, includes a snack after the sauna. Sign up: [email protected]

  • Haikusauna

    Mixed sauna at 5pm – 10pm, please bring a swimsuit. The beach and campfire is at the disposal of the sauna users. Price 18€/person, payment with cash, mobilepay or bank transfer. The cafe is open at 5pm-8pm.

  • Karkausmäen Kammari

    The sauna heats up from 4pm. Enjoy the nurturing power of peat, take a dip in Lake Karkausjärvi and relax in the warm hot tub. Bring your own towel and a water bottle if you wish. Price 45€/person. In between the sauna, you can taste the flavours of Sydänmaa.

    Welcome to enjoy the wood-heated sauna in Juurikkasaari, with views of Lake Päijänne! Between sauna sessions, you can take a dip in Lake Päijänne. The beach terrace and grill offer delicious food and drinks. The beach sauna facilities are available during your sauna session. There is a WC, 2 showers, a dressing room, and a sauna cabinet. Sauna seat covers are provided. The sauna is close to the shore, so you can swim in Lake Päijänne from the pier or the sandy beach. The sauna session is mixed, so please wear a swimsuit. The towel rental is 5€

  • Maatilamatkailu Kumpunen

    In our traditional Finnish sauna, you can relax, cleanse yourself, enjoy the silence, and cool off in the waves of Lake Kirrinjärvi. The sauna has a cozy atmosphere and can accommodate 6-8 people on the benches at a time. It’s a mixed sauna, so please bring a swimsuit and a towel. You can sauna for an hour or the entire sauna time from 4 PM to 8 PM. Please reserve your spot in advance, the maximum number of participants is 15 sauna-goers.

    After a relaxing sauna, enjoy a good night’s sleep in the charmingly rustic rooms or the beautifully austere barn room.

  • Jämsä Sauna Day

    The entire Himos-Jämsä area will be enjoying saunas in June when the Jämsä Sauna Day event is held for the second time on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in various locations around Jämsä. This event is part of the broader Central Finland Sauna Province Week. The Jämsä Sauna Day event is designed by the sauna master of Saunakylä, Saija Silen. Sauna Day is an annual event that brings together the saunas of Jämsä and offers a unique sauna experience for both locals and visitors. Saunakylä serves as the center of the event.

  • Hotelli Keurusselkä

    The tent sauna and beach saunas at Hotel Keurusselkä are heated on sauna days from 4 PM to 6 PM. Sauna fee is €10, included in the price for guests.

  • Ranta-Keurula

    Come and enjoy the early summer in Finland at Ranta-Keurula, nestled in the middle of beautiful countryside and lake scenery. A birch-lined path leads you past the sheep enclosure to the shore, where warm saunas await. The spacious smoke sauna’s dark logs, gentle steam, and dim atmosphere calm the mind. Between the two saunas on the shore is a unique wilderness-style outdoor kitchen, where we prepare hamburgers over an open fire using our farm’s own beef during the sauna evening. There are no separate sauna sessions for men and women, so please wear a swimsuit in the sauna. You can bring your own towel or rent one from us for 5 €/piece.

    The price for a sauna evening is 20€ for adults and 10€ for children under 13. The price for a hamburger is 12€. Payment is made on-site at the reception. Please register for the sauna evening and make your meal reservations in advance by Thursday, June 12th, by calling or sending a message to the number +358 40 581 8893.
