At the Jyväskylä Region Tourist Office, you can purchase (EUR 1) a brochure about sites designed by Alvar Aalto in Jyväskylä. The brochure is available in several languages. In addition, we have brochures about specific buildings designed by Aalto, such as the Säynätsalo Town Hall and the Alvar Aalto Museum. If you like shopping, we suggest that you visit the Jyväskylä pedestrian precinct for a wonderful selection of shops, shopping centres, restaurants and cafes. Päijänne-Risteilyt Hildén and MS Rhea offer local cruises to the north of Lake Päijänne or the Vaajakoski Canal from the Jyväskylä harbour. The cruises last for two to four hours. In addition, Päijänne-Risteilyt Hildén offers a weekly cruise to Lahti and to Suolahti via five canals. The Jyväs-Parkki traffic map includes parking spaces and facilities in the city centre. Parking is free with a parking disc in spaces marked with a K. For long-term parking, we suggest you choose of the parking garages in the city centre.
In the summer, the Lehtisaari summer home offers a free sauna. The summer home is maintained by the Jyväskylä parish. The recreational area for boaters and hikers in Mämminiemi in Toivakka offers a sauna in the summer.

The Jyväskylä airport is located in Tikkakoski, about 20 kilometres from the centre of Jyväskylä. A shuttle bus to the airport (EUR 8) leaves from the Jyväskylä Travel Centre an hour before each flight. However, the shuttle bus does not serve the first flight of the morning. You can exchange currency at Forex Bank at Kauppakatu 27 in the heart of Jyväskylä as well as at other banks.
You have a variety of options. If you need a ticket for a few trips, you should buy single tickets (from EUR 3.30 for adults). Single tickets can only be purchased on the buses (Visa Electron is not accepted). If you need to make several bus trips during a day, you should consider buying a day ticket (EUR 8 to 12, depending on the distance). Day tickets are available at the Nikolainkulma ticket office, Sokos information counter and Travel Centre. Day tickets cannot be purchased on the buses. If you are planning to say in Jyväskylä for a longer period of time, a travel card may work best for you. You can purchase 10-trip and 40-trip tickets and 30-day travel cards at Nikolainkulma, Sokos and the Travel Centre.
