Jyväskylä is located in Central Finland, which is renowned for its waterways and unspoilt nature. We are in fact right in the heart of the Finnish lake district!

Nature can be enjoyed in a whole variety of ways. The Jyväskylä Region has numerous signposted nature trails, routes and hundreds of kilometres of cycle paths crisscrossing Central Finland’s wonderfully varied terrain. Lutakko harbour in the centre of the city is home to a number of pleasant restaurant ships and the natural starting point for a lake cruise or a stroll on the beautiful Rantaraitti. The lake can also be enjoyed from the relaxed comfort of a sauna raft.

Päijänne-Risteilyt Hildén Oy (Lake Päijänne Cruises Hildén) provides you with an opportunity to book a memorable trip by water for the purpose of visiting several nature attractions and places, a good example is the Restaurant Savutuvan Apaja. The cruise is a great addition to an evening party as well.

Jyväskylä offers a great deal of activities. There are numerous museums and beautiful churches which all are well worth a visit. Various guided tours, either on foot or by bus, are arranged in summers. These provide an opportunity to explore for example the work of Alvar Aalto, or Jyväskylä’s attractive green areas.
