The permanent exhibition of the Craft Museum of Finland brings to life the holistic and diverse nature of crafts. Crafts begin with an idea that can arise from anywhere – nature, history, art and trends. Materials such as wool, wood, metal and clay are at the core, and the exhibition also looks at future materials. Craftsmanship is part of our cultural heritage, and the exhibition also highlights the preservation of manual skills and future craft skills. The footprint of sustainable crafts and ecological choices are also discussed.
