The impressive theatre building of Jyväskylä was planned by the world famous architect Alvar Aalto.

Music in Jyväskylä Region
The Jyväskylä Region provides you with a diverse range of live music, in terms of concerts, gigs and festivals. For example, the Paviljonki Fair and Event Centre, the ballroom of the main building of the University of Jyväskylä along with the premises of the Finnish Music Campus provide you with an opportunity to enjoy yourself the great musical experiences. Jyväskylä Sinfonia has its concerts mainly in the new Concert Hall called Encore in the Paviljonki Event Center.
The stage of the widely known rock club, Dancehall Lutakko, are crowded both by the Finnish and foreign artists and bands. This atmospheric and intimate place for gigs is known as a favourite place of performance and playing among several Finnish artists. Also many pubs and bars provide you with an opportunity to enjoy and experience your evening with live music. The main places for arranging outdoor events are the Lutakonaukio Venue Centre, the Jyväskylä Harbour (known also as the Lutakko Harbour) and the Lounaispuisto Park. The well-known events are, for example, the Jyväskylä Summer Festival, combining different art forms along with the Suomipop Festival, driving people wild every summer with the Finnish artists starring the Festival.
