Saunakylä – Sauna Village is a unique smoke sauna village located in Juokslahti, Jämsä, featuring over 20 traditional Finnish smoke saunas dating from the 1700s to the 1940s. 10–14 saunas are heated for public use every Saturday from mid-May to late September. Carefully restored and originally from various regions of Finland, the saunas are actively used rather than preserved as static exhibits. This practice keeps both the historic structures and authentic Finnish sauna traditions alive, offering visitors a truly living cultural experience.
