Viulist legend Linda Lampenius and pop star Pete Parkkonen released their joint song Liekinheitin in January 2026, with which the duo participated in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The song broke records and made history right from its release: it became the fastest song to reach one million views on YouTube in UMK history. Currently, Liekinheitin has accumulated over 6 million streams on streaming services and has received widespread international attention from both fans and the media.
In February, Lampenius and Parkkonen were selected as Finland’s Eurovision representatives with an overwhelming vote count. The duo won the competition with a total of 570 points and will represent Finland at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria. Their song has held the top spot in Eurovision betting odds, risen to number one on domestic radio, and been Finland’s most listened-to song on the Spotify Top 50 chart for several weeks.
