LUTAKON LIPPA 2026 PROGRAM IS READY AND ON SALE!
BLOODRED HOURGLASS, SAMULI PUTRO, TRIO NISKALAUKAUS, YONA, COSTEE AND OTHERS WILL BE SEEN IN AUGUST IN OUTDOOR CONCERTS IN THE YARD OF LUTAKKO
The concert heaven of Jyväskylä, under the shadow of the grand canopy of the Dance Hall Lutakko, will be celebrating again on August 12-16 under the title of Lutakko Lippa. The full program of five evenings and twelve artists has now been released, and advance tickets for the concerts are on sale at www.jelmu.net and www.lippu.fi/lutakonlippalive
On the opening night, Wednesday, August 12th, the headline performer will be Bloodred Hourglass, who have sold out their two most recent Lutakko shows, and now it’s time for them to take the stage in front of an even larger audience. Bloodred Hourglass have earned their place in the forefront of Finnish metal through hard work, determination, and exceptional songwriting skills. Their album “How’s The Heart” (2023) marked a major breakthrough for the band, and last year’s release “We Should Be Buried Like This” has further solidified their popularity not only in Finland, but across Europe as well. The Wednesday evening of Lutakko Lippa, and indeed the entire Lippa week, will be opened by Rioghan, a modern metal act with Central Finnish roots.
Samuli Putro will be seen in the spring at the biggest show of his career at the Helsinki Ice Hall, but life goes on after that, including at Lutakko Lippa on Thursday, August 13th. Putro’s recent history also includes several sold-out shows at Lutakko, so the demand is there, and even more so at Lippa, as the evening will be opened by Josén Pimeä Puoli.
On Friday, August 14th, we return to heavier matters. To start the evening, Peer Günt will bring their 50th anniversary tour to Jyväskylä. On top of that, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus will hammer the necks into knots on their home turf. This will be a classic evening that will be remembered for a long time, as long as the hand holding the strong liquor doesn’t get too hot.
More Jyväskylä flavors are in store on Saturday, August 15th, when Yona is seen in a band performance in her hometown for the first time in a long time. The artistically ambitious and versatile artist will conclude the evening, which will also feature Asla Jo, who has just filled The Pappi’s Tytär debut album tour, as well as the evening opener Orvokki.
The headliner for the closing day of Lutakko Lippa week, the purveyor of great emotions costee, has firmly established a place in the hearts of the Jyväskylä audience. For the four previous years, costee has been seen at Lutakko four times, and each time the Lutakko hall has been full to the last ticket. The place as the closing act of Lippa on Sunday, August 16th, is well-deserved. Aliisa Syrjä, with millions of streams, will also perform, and the evening will be opened by Jemina, who is known for the collaborative song Epäreilu Maailma with costee and even more for her hit Ylpee, which has gathered a large audience.
It is good to copy a brief historical overview from last year’s Lippa press release to conclude this announcement: Lutakko Lippa was born in the first corona summer to meet the people’s hunger for live music, at a time when almost all summer events had been cancelled and when the recommended safety distances were wider outdoors than indoors. To meet this need, the Jyväskylä Live Music Association Jelmu ry decided to start organizing concerts in the yard of their home venue Dance Hall Lutakko, under the canopy-like roof above the loading dock at the end of the building. The popular event was hoped to continue even after the circumstances normalized, and it has indeed remained, offering the opportunity to see even major artists in a somewhat more intimate performance environment towards the end of the summer festival season.
