The atmospheric buildings of the Craftsmen’s Houses, the Coppersmith’s House (1842) and the Carpenter’s House (1844), are rare examples of the old building tradition of Jyväskylä, founded in 1837.
How on earth did the coppersmith’s large family, the journeyman, the apprentice, the lodger, and the visiting customers all fit into the Coppersmith’s House? But there was room for everyone!
At the Museum Shop Sparvin, you’ll find products that suit the spirit of late 19th century Jyväskylä and a cozy workshop space. The Museum Shop is located in the Sparvin House (1861), which is the oldest original residential building still standing in central Jyväskylä.
Welcome to explore! Free admission all year round.
