Jouko “Joksa” Sohlman (born 1946 – died 2024) built an idyllic small Kalevala village on Eväjärvi, Jämsä. His goal was to live as self-sufficiently, naturally, and without outside help as possible.

The area has several buildings that he built alone, by hand and without electricity. These buildings are already worth seeing. However, behind all this is a secret that few have been aware of: a large tunnel network is hidden underground. Its purpose was to prepare for the worst possible disaster. The tunnels include a survival bunker intended as the last refuge.

The guided tour is chargeable and includes a tour of the tunnel network as well as more detailed information about the buildings, the area, and the story of this mysterious man whose life ended sadly.

Duration approximately 40 minutes
Price 12 € / person
Free for under 15s accompanied by a parent
