Seven Hills nature trail
Tikkakoski Nature Trail is located in the Seven Hills outdoor recreation area on the north-western edge of Tikkakoski.
Description
The circular trail is 2.3 kilometres long and is designed to be walked in a counter-clockwise direction. The route is marked with yellow trail markers and signposts. Along the trail, 14 information boards provide insights into the local nature and environment.
The terrain is mostly easy to walk, consisting of gently rolling pine forest. Wet sections are equipped with boardwalks, making the route suitable for light outdoor footwear in normal conditions. During spring floods, a short section of the trail may need to be bypassed via the nearby fitness trail.
Mustalampi Pond is a good spot for a break, with a bench available by the shore. There are no campfire sites along the route, and visitors are encouraged to follow the principles of litter-free hiking by taking all rubbish home with them.
The nature trail is ideal for a relaxing walk and getting to know the local environment. Allow around two hours if you would like to read the information boards and stop to observe nature along the way. The trail is not maintained during winter, and parts of the route are used as cross-country ski tracks.
