Combine a relaxing lake cruise with world-famous architecture on this unique excursion. Enjoy the beautiful Lake Päijänne landscape that inspired Alvar Aalto and discover the scenic surroundings of Säynätsalo while visiting the iconic Säynätsalo Town Hall, designed by Aalto. Interestingly, Alvar Aalto himself once travelled to Säynätsalo aboard the historic steamship s/s Suomi.

The cruise departs from Jyväskylä Harbour at 2:00 pm, heading across Lake Päijänne towards Säynätsalo. On board you’ll find a café and a fully licensed restaurant. During the journey, you can also enjoy the ship’s generous buffet.

The ship arrives at the Säynätsalo pier at 3:20 pm, where your guide will lead a short walk to Säynätsalo Town Hall. During the guided visit, you will learn about Alvar Aalto, his architecture, and the fascinating history of this internationally renowned building. After the tour, you may enjoy coffee and cake at the café for an additional charge.

The return journey to Jyväskylä is by local bus 16 or 21 (departure according to the local timetable, typically around 5:00 pm).
