Peace Butoh
Peace Week is celebrated at Kramsulla 19.–25.10.2026. On Thursday 22.10. at 5:30 pm–7:30 pm we will explore peace as a physical, spiritual and shared experience in line with the theme. Expect gentle movement and a small-scale, grounded ritual – we will become acquainted with butoh dance also from the perspectives of universal ritual art and peace work.
No advance registration is needed for the class, you can simply show up.
Price: Free.
Instructor: Anthoni Levonsaari, butoh teacher and dancer, theatre expression instructor (AMK)
About Butoh Dance
Butoh (butō, buto), a form of contemporary dance and dance theatre, is a dance of the heart; making one’s inner landscape visible and gently placing one’s gaze beneath another’s gaze. It is serious playful movement research and an opportunity to be seen and encountered as a whole, unique being. In Butoh, every body-mind is beautiful, valuable and right just as it is, as is every person’s way of moving and dancing.
Peace Jams (Sade ry)
Peace Week is celebrated at Kramsulla 19.–25.10.2026. At the jams you can get to know dance styles, training and freestyle culture. You can also become acquainted with cypher culture and of course local dancers. You don’t need any previous experience with street dance. The jams operate on an each one teach one principle, meaning there is no instructor and dancers guide each other. There is a host at the jams who opens the doors and plays the music.
Street dance jams are free activities where everyone is welcome. At the jams we follow safer space principles. If you encounter inappropriate behaviour, please report it to the jam host.
