Together for Peace
The world needs more listening, understanding and encounters. That’s why we’re organizing an open, shared Peace Week in Jyväskylä, where peace is examined from many perspectives through discussion, listening, experiencing and working together.
The Jyväskylä Peace Week brings together organizations, networks and volunteers working for peace to build a diverse program of events to promote peace. The week’s program includes music and art, inspiring discussions and encounters, expert presentations and collaborative activities. The main events are the Peace Walk, themed “At the Source of Peace – with the values of hope, care and civilization”, and the RauhaFest at the Veturitallit.
The Peace Week is a non-religious and non-partisan event. It is organized together by the Jyväskylä Network for Interfaith Harmony USVA, the Central Finland Peace Defenders, and the Jyväskylä Regional Association of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation. The patron of the Peace Week is Jukka Hämäläinen, the Chairman of the Jyväskylä City Council.
Peace does not come along on its own. Welcome to join in building peace and the Jyväskylä Peace Week on 19-25.10.2026!
