Alvar Aalto locations
Jyväskylä is home to many buildings designed by the legendary Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. They range from his earliest projects to some of his final creations. You can follow in his architectural footsteps to see examples of his classical and functionalist works as well as buildings from his from red brick period and his later monumentalism phase. Three of these sites, Säynätsalo Town Hall, the Muuratsalo Experimental House and the Aalto Campus at the University of Jyväskylä, form part of the Aalto Works ensemble inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
