Café Meijerinliiteri
The summer café ‘Café Meijerinliiteri’ is located in Joutsa, in the idyllic courtyard of a beautiful old farmhouse. It serves fresh coffee, mint tea and rhubarb juice, as well as sweet and savoury seasonal treats baked on site.
Built in the 19th century, the barn invites visitors to step back in time. It contains cultural artefacts spanning centuries, and the permanent ‘Juuret’ exhibition tells the story of the family, the village and Finland as a whole. The traditional courtyard also features a summer boutique called Torpan Tyttö, a dress flea market, a playhouse, a sandbox and plenty of space to run around. The popular Suonteen Soitto concerts are held in the ice room of the old stone barn during the summer. The stone barn also houses two art galleries with ever-changing exhibitions. Come and experience a summer’s day for all the senses!
Summer 2026 opening hours: 17 June–9 August 2026, Wednesday–Sunday, 12 noon–6 p.m., plus August weekends: Saturday–Sunday, 15–16 August, 22–23 August, and 29–30 August.
