The conference and theatre building of the Jyväskylä workers’ association is the first significant public building designed by Aalto. The theatre hall on the second floor rests on the Tuscan columns of the open-plan ground floor. The restaurant and cafe facilities on the ground floor have been completely remodelled. The rest of the building was restored in 1983, and the facades were renovated in 1998. The building is a masterpiece from Aalto’s classicist period.

Worker’s club is mainly used to different meetings and occasions. For the tourist visits it is only open according to an agreement. Visits have to be arranged 2 weeks before the actual visiting time.
