An amusement park suitable for the whole family set in pleasant, gardenlike surroundings. The park also contains lots of nice rides and things to do for very young fun-lovers. The Finnish Air Force Museum is a family destination where you can discover the fascinating history of Finnish military aviation! The permanent exhibition consists mainly of aircraft, engines and air equipment used by the Finnish Air Force. On display are 27 aircraft ranging from biplanes with fabric wings to wartime fighters and jets made from metal. Temporary exhibits are located in different parts of the exhibition hall. The exhibition also includes four aircraft cockpits which visitors can enter.
The Seminaarinmäki campus area of the University of Jyväskylä, known as the Aalto Campus, forms part of the Aalto Works ensemble inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Alvar Aalto was awarded the design project for the Jyväskylä Civil Guard House through a competition. The building originally housed a market hall, cinema, large ballroom with a stage, a restaurant, and the offices of the civil guard organisations. The design work for this “transitional period-based multi-purpose building” was completed during the period when Aalto was transitioning from classicism to functionalism. The departure from classicism is reflected in, for example, the functionally structured spaces and the rational, contemporary interior design solutions.
