What could go wrong?
“Family first in the tree” is a new and fresh comedy about how Finns enjoy their cottage, even if it’s forced. The mother of the family, Helena (Annu Valonen), has a full-time job of getting her adult children (Maiju Jokinen, Jyri Ojansivu) to behave at least long enough for the garden magazine editor who was called to the place to take representative photos now that the peonies are blooming and the new compostable mulch has arrived. However, things go wrong before the cooler has even been carried to the house.
Tiina Iisala, the screenwriter of last summer’s hit play, “One Night”, and comedy multi-talented Antti Tuomas Heikkinen have written a musical play together that will make you laugh, but maybe also cry a little. In the end, the most important thing is the family. And the fact that the cottage neighbors are jealous.
The music will be provided by the reliable TE4 Band, and the theatre’s own actors, Pietari Pentikäinen and Teemu Sytelä, will be joined on stage by guests Annu Valonen, Jari Silventoinen, Maiju Jokinen, Jyri Ojansivu, Mikko Maasola, Antti Lattu, Anni Happonen and the wonderful dancers of the UMC Dance Studios Stage group. The theatre’s own Neija Välilä will be the choreographer.
Tickets on sale now! You can buy your tickets from the ticket shop, the theatre office (Kyllikinkatu 1, JKL) or the Riihivuori Summer Theatre one hour before the start of the performance, if there are enough seats.
