Organized by the City of Jyväskylä, the City of Light event brings light art installations to the shores of Lake Jyväsjärvi, to its bridges, and throughout the city. You can also become part of the art by heading out onto the water in glowing, illuminated kayaks.
This is perfect for you if you visit the City of Light artworks every year and are looking for a new kind of experience. Or if you’ve wanted to try kayaking—now’s your chance to enjoy an easy evening paddle while admiring the light art and becoming part of it yourself. The magic of the evening darkness adds a special atmosphere to the tour.
This year, the route will pass near the illuminated Ylistö Bridge. The tour departs from the Lutakko shoreline and returns to the same spot.
The kayaks will be lit by the organizer.
