Italian architectural historian and Doctor of Philosophy Luca Placci will be giving a three-lecture public lecture series on the 7th-8th of February 2026 on Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto’s Italian influences and contacts, as well as Aalto’s architecture as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The lectures in Jyväskylä, Muurame and Säynätsalo are part of the 60th anniversary program of the Alvar Aalto Society, the Jyväskylä Summer University and the University of Jyväskylä. Cooperation partners are the Alvar Aalto Foundation, Tavolo Bianco/Säynätsalo Town Hall, Muurame Parish and Muurame Municipality.

This lecture will be held at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Säynätsalo Town Hall. Welcome!
