The Italian architectural historian Luca Placci, PhD, will hold a public lecture series on 7-8 September 2026 about Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto’s Italian influences and contacts, as well as Aalto’s architecture as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The lectures in Jyväskylä, Muurame and Säynätsalo are part of the 60th anniversary program of the Alvar Aalto Society, the University of Jyväskylä Summer School, and the University of Jyväskylä. The collaborative partners are the Alvar Aalto Foundation, Tavolo Bianco/Säynätsalo Municipal Hall, the Muurame Parish, and the Municipality of Muurame.
