Himos Epic MTB – 10th Anniversary (7.-8.8.2026)
Welcome to experience genuine mountain biking on the best single track trails in Central Finland! Himos Epic MTB is not a traditional mass-start style marathon race, but is run on a unique special stage format. Time is only taken on the off-road stages (segments), and the transition stages between the tests are ridden leisurely and relaxed, preparing for the next push. The event is started in groups of up to six riders, ensuring a congestion-free riding experience.
Routes and Distances: Between challenging climbs and fun descents, the best trails of the Jämsä region are covered. The routes are not published in full beforehand, so authentic adventure is guaranteed. There are two distances to choose from:
* Full Distance (Friday-Saturday): A true two-day test! The full package includes around 15 off-road stages, some of which are ridden on Friday evening and night under the glow of the headlamps.
* Half Distance (Saturday): A compact and fast-paced one-day package, delivering the best of Saturday’s stages and routes.
Special Competitions on the Course: In addition to the regular timing, the event will crown the masters of special skills:
* King of the Climb: 3-4 tough climbing segments (80-100 m elevation gain), requiring route choice, determination and a lightweight setup.
* Descending Baron: 3-4 fast and technical descents, rewarding riding vision and the bravest lines.
The event hub is located in Himos, where the race day is crowned by a communal meal, prize-giving and an epic After Party.
