The program will feature the bright and lively, distinctive music works of the small ethnic groups of Ukraine – the Carpathian highlanders, Hutsuls and Lemkos. In the music of this mountain-dwelling people, both sentimental and fiery, mournful and exuberantly joyful, dreaming and heroic melodies, the full range of emotions and experiences can be heard.
The performance of singer Andrij Boženskin will add a colorful addition to the concert program of Dzerela Karpat. His repertoire includes well-known Ukrainian folk songs.
The repertoire of Džerela Karpat includes ancient ethnic music from the western regions of Ukraine. It is performed on ancient folk instruments such as cymbals, nai (pan flute) and ocarina. Thanks to the group, listeners appreciating this art form in Poland, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Macedonia, Italy, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Canada and the USA have been introduced to the gems of Ukrainian instrumental music.
