Jepa Lambert, one of Finland’s top vocalists, will join the Jyväskylä Big Band as a soloist for an atmospheric performance at the Old Yard of Toivola in early July. However, this will not be just a mellow evening of summer vibes, but rather an energetic blast from the 1970s. Earth, Wind & Fire, the acclaimed American R&B group that reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s, will be the focus of the evening. EWF is one of the most successful musical acts in history, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Their music features 1970s R&B, soul, funk, and disco elements.
Jepa Lambert is a Finnish soul singer known not only for his pink hair, but also for his versatile musical talents. He works as a soloist, session musician, vocal coach, and backing vocalist on various projects. Jepa also does voice acting and dubbing work for different advertisements and animated productions. He can be spotted in the bands of many popular TV shows, such as Elämäni biisi, The Voice of Finland, Tähdet Tähdet, and UMK.
The Jyväskylä Big Band is one of the most active big bands in Finland. They have collaborated with many international soloists and composers, and have undertaken cross-artistic productions. In addition to their own concerts, JBB has extensively toured Finland’s clubs, concert halls, and festivals. The orchestra’s conductor and artistic director has been Ilkka Mäkitalo since 1995.
The JBB is in top shape, and there could not be a more fitting soloist for this music than Jepa Lambert!
