Laajavuori Outdoor Area in Jyväskylä is a versatile and easily accessible nature destination that offers activities throughout the year. Located just four kilometers from the city center, the area’s highest point rises to nearly 227 meters, providing stunning views of the surrounding nature and cityscape. Several service providers operate in the area, including the Laajis activity center, Scandic Laajavuori spa hotel, Kipinä Studio, Buugi Sports Center, and Havu Resort.
Description
In winter, Laajavuori transforms into a lively winter sports center. The first snow ski trail opens as early as November, and the entire trail network covers about 50 kilometers, some of which are lit. There are 13 slopes for skiers and snowboarders, and the area also offers winter cycling routes. After outdoor activities, visitors can relax at the spa or enjoy a campfire at one of the lean-tos.
During summer, Laajavuori attracts outdoor enthusiasts with its nature trails, mountain biking routes, and adventure park. The area also features disc golf courses, a roller skiing track, and opportunities for swimming and jogging. Laajavuori is an excellent destination for both active adventurers and those seeking tranquility in nature.
