The guided tour of the AALTO – Work and Life exhibition enhances the exhibition experience by going deeper into Alvar Aalto’s personal history and his work as an architect and designer. The guided tour also discusses Aalto’s wives, the architects Aino Aalto and Elissa Aalto, who were also his colleagues, and the importance of the architects and collaborators at his office. The main perspective is Aalto’s idea of the power of architecture and good design in solving the problems of human life and society. In addition to Aalto’s fascinating life story, the guided tour presents architectural drawings, photographs, scale models, and design objects from the Alvar Aalto Foundation’s collection.

Two guides will be provided for larger groups. Please book your guided tour at least two weeks in advance. Your booking can be cancelled without cost up to two working days in advance. If you cancel later, we will charge a fee for the guided tour.

We also tailor guided tours for special groups, such as the visually impaired. The tailored tour gives participants a chance to examine materials and selected objects using different senses.
