Summer activities at Himos

The hilly landscapes and varied terrains of Himos are worth exploring on foot and by bike. For example, you can ascend to the summit of Himosvuori via a marked hiking or cycling trail. The climb is rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding lake and forest nature.

At Himos, you can also enjoy summer with water activities. At Patalahti, you can go kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, or even rowing. If you wish, you can steer your kayak from Himos towards Päijänne. For those who enjoy golf, there is a full-length 18-hole course available.

Events at Himos

Himos is a well-known event center that attracts visitors from all over Finland. The top domestic artists perform on the festival stages of Himos Midsummer, Iskelmä Festival, and Jysäri. There are also plenty of other events on offer, from yoga to trail running and car events.

Summer and a cottage – an unbeatable combination! At Himos, you can stay comfortably right by the services or in quieter cottage areas. There are both basic cottages and luxurious holiday villas available for larger groups. In many cottages, you can relax in the bubbles of a hot tub.

Things to see at Himos

A must-visit destination in Himos is the Sauna Village, where you can explore the world’s largest collection of Finnish smoke saunas. The oldest saunas date back to the 18th century! On summer Saturdays, you can enjoy a public sauna session in the smoke saunas.

At the Moose Manor, you can get acquainted with moose and other horned animals. Do you dare to pet Sauli the moose’s muzzle?
