Keuruu Church
The fourth church of Keuruu parish was built on Kippavuorenmäki near the old church. This neo-Gothic brick church is equipped with a southern tower and its foundation is made of grey granite. The church building committee was chaired by factory owner G.A. Serlachius and architect Theodor Granstedt was in charge of the design. Odert Laine was responsible for the practical implementation of the construction between 1889 and 1892.
The Kippavuori shrine was updated in 1956 as planned by architect Elsi Borg. The altarpieces were created by artist Eero Järnefelt. Church organs, acquired from Walcker in Germany in 1902, were renewed in 1992 by Hans Heinrich.
The shrine of Kippavuori is the spacious, bright and functional main church of Keuruu parish, offering an ideal setting for large celebrations. The church has a total seating capacity of 1,100, and the music is provided by a grand piano and organ.
