Bring the whole family on a cruise adventure!
Families with children are welcome on all of our cruises! From Jyväskylä, the whole family can experience the atmosphere of the s/s Suomi, which is an authentic, century-old steamship, on three-hour cruises on Lake Päijänne.
The m/s Suomen Suvi operates on the Keitele Canal; its cruises offer views of canal lock operations and the Stone Age rock paintings at Saraakallio. If you are looking for a shorter canal cruise, you can also board the ship at Laukaa Harbor for a roughly 2.5-hour cruise to Saraakallio!
In July, you can take the Korpilahti route to spend the summer day with the family on the sunny rocks of Mämminiemi. In the afternoon, the ship picks up the excursionists again for the return journey to Jyväskylä.
Our ships’ buffets offer delicious food for the whole family! During the trip, you can visit the captain and take a peek at how and where the ship is steered. Young adventurers can also solve “Star Captain” challenges and earn their own Star Captain diploma.
Good to know when cruising with children:

– Please notify us of any special dietary requirements in advance
– You may bring your own food for babies
– Ice cream, sweets, and soft drinks are also available for purchase on board
– For safety reasons, running on board is not permitted, and instructions from the crew must be followed

Accessibility
The ships are accessible by manual wheelchair, and all ships have an accessible restroom. Please notify us in advance when booking if there is a wheelchair user or an accompanying assistant. The assistant’s cruise ticket is free of charge.
Pets welcome
Dogs are welcome on board free of charge and must be kept on a leash. For hygiene reasons, pets are not permitted in restaurant areas. Separate policies apply to guide and assistance dogs.
Location and arrival
The cruises start on the Lutakko harbour near the city centre. The port is easily accessible via the overpass from the Hannikaisenkatu street, by foot or by a bike. Bicycles are welcome on board to all cruises, for a small extra charge. You can get there also with the local Linkki -bus.
