Families with children are welcome on all our cruises! From Jyväskylä, the whole family can experience the unique atmosphere of the authentic, over 100-year-old steamship s/s Suomi on three-hour cruises on Lake Päijänne.
The m/s Suomen Suvi cruises along the Keitele Canal, where you can experience the excitement of passing through canal locks and see the Stone Age rock paintings of Saraakallio along the way. If you are looking for a shorter canal cruise, you can also board the ship at Laukaa Harbour for an approximately 2.5-hour cruise to Saraakallio!
In July, the Korpilahti route is a great way to spend a summer day with the whole family. You can, for example, take the ship to Mämminiemi and enjoy a few hours outdoors by the lake before the ship picks you up again in the afternoon for the return journey to Jyväskylä.
Our ships’ buffets offer delicious food for the whole family! During the cruise, children can visit the captain and take a peek at the wheelhouse to see where the ship is steered.
Good to know when cruising with children:
– Strollers may be brought on board
– Please let us know about any special dietary requirements in advance
– You may bring your own baby food on board
– Ice cream, sweets and soft drinks are also available for purchase on board
– For safety reasons, running on board is not permitted, and instructions from the crew must always be followed
Accessibility
The ships are accessible by manual wheelchair, and all ships have an accessible restroom. Please notify us in advance when booking if there is a wheelchair user or an accompanying assistant. The assistant’s cruise ticket is free of charge.
Pets welcome
Dogs are welcome on board free of charge and must be kept on a leash. For hygiene reasons, pets are not permitted in restaurant areas. Separate policies apply to guide and assistance dogs.
Location and arrival
The cruises start on the Lutakko harbour near the city centre. The port is easily accessible via the overpass from the Hannikaisenkatu street, by foot or by a bike. Bicycles are welcome on board to all cruises, for a small extra charge. You can get there also with the local Linkki -bus.
