Distance to the target from Kompassinaukio in Jyväskylä
Approximately 12 kilometers long Runeberg’s path starts from the yard of Säätyläiskoti, where national poet, J.L. Runeberg lived and worked during the years 1823-1825. The route goes towards Julmat lammit (“handsome ravine ponds“), following the same path Runeberg himself used to walk 200 years earlier. The hike includes a viewpoint, campfire place with a roof, woodshed, outhouse and a beach. The route is marked with blue Runeberg-signs. The Julmat lammit part of the hike might include rocky and uneven terrain at points. The path is located in Saarijärvi.
