Europe’s Coolest City Walking Tour

Named one of Europe’s coolest destinations by The Sunday Times, Jyväskylä invites you to explore its vibrant charm. Join a guided walking tour of this modern university city, birthplace of the famous Finnish education system. Learn about the world-renowned architect Alvar Aalto, and visit the venue of the annual World Rally Championship race. The tour ends at the harbour, a vibrant hub for locals, offering cozy restaurants and space for relaxation or picnics by Lake Jyväsjärvi.

From UNESCO World Heritage Church to Modern Wooden Architecture

Petäjävesi Old Church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and represents the skills of 18th-century folk builders. The 15-year-old Kuokkala Church, on the other hand, beautifully showcases modern wooden construction. In addition to these two experiential attractions, our guided bus tour offers fascinating stories about Jyväskylä.

Accessibility: The tour is not barrier-free. The Old Church does not have a wheelchair ramp. The floors of the church are uneven.

Pro Nemus – new perspectives on northern wood

Metsä Group’s Pro Nemus visitor center offers an immersive and memorable way to explore the possibilities of Northern wood. Pro Nemus is located at Metsä Group’s mill area in Äänekoski. The visitor center combines experiential technology, immersive experiences and the peace of nature. During the visit, you will learn about the possibilities of bioeconomy and Metsä Group’s operations, history and products. At Pro Nemus, you will have the opportunity to see and experience firsthand the versatility of Northern wood and its transformation into familiar everyday products and new innovations.

The minimum age for visitors is seven years. Please note that there is a zero-tolerance policy in the mill area, and entry is not allowed under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Departure from Jyväskylä at 13.15, arrival to Pro Nemus at 14, visiting time until 16 and return to Jyväskylä at 16.45.
