Jytää ja iskelmää is a Finnish disco where DJ Arttu Seppänen spins vinyl records. This exhilarating afternoon of dancing features music you won’t hear anywhere else. The event is a birthday gift from Jyväskylä to its residents and is part of the Yläkaupungin Yö festival.
On the same day at 11:00 a.m. in Lounaispuisto, the Loiskis Orchestra will perform a free concert suitable for everyone, especially the youngest members of the family.
June
Sun, June 7: LystiKylä Festival: Puistopartio at 10:30 a.m., Mutaveijarit at 3:00 p.m.
The Puistopartio concert is sold out! Puistopartio is a children’s music group whose songs are about construction vehicles.
The whole family’s favorite band, Mutaveijarit, will kick off the closing party for LystiKylä! Mutaveijarit is known for its energetic stage performances and catchy songs that blend various musical styles, enjoyed by both children and adults alike. Tickets for the Mutaveijarit concert: €12.

Thu, July 23 Concert: Mikko Harju at 6:00 p.m.
Mikko Harju is a singer-songwriter with an exceptional ability to move audiences with his powerful songs and stage presence. Mikko Harju’s debut album, which received two Emma Award nominations, features hits such as “Mä olen tässä,” “Taivas ei oo rajana,” and “Sinä riität.” From Mikko Harju’s upcoming second album, singles released so far include “Timantti,” “Anna mennä lennä,” “Meidän puolella,” and “Rikas sydän.” Free entry!
NOTE! Mikko will be performing the “Rikas sydän” concept at the Lounaispuisto concert. Send Mikko a private message on Instagram or Facebook (@mikkoharju): Let him know which concert you’re attending, which song you’d like to dedicate, and to whom. You can also write a longer story about how the song has been a part of your life’s journey. Please also let him know if you’d like your story to be anonymous or include names. Mikko probably won’t be able to perform all of them, but he promises to read as many as possible. He will select the stories at random.
You can buy café treats from the JYPK Edustus cafe or ice cream from the Art Gelato cart.
In July, the sing-along will take place at Harju instead of Lounaispuisto! The grand opening of the renovated Harju Stadium will be held on Saturday, July 4, featuring a program that includes sports-themed sing-alongs, with performances by the band Kruuvaus and the Kipinä choirs. Thu, Aug 13 Lounalaulut Sing-Along: Charlotta Saari & Ibiscus 6–7 p.m.
At the Lounalaulut sing-along, we’ll sing beloved evergreens together. The event is led by the 2023 Tango Queen Charlotta Saari together with the Ibiscus Orchestra. Charlotta Saari brings a breath of fresh air to the world of pop and tango with her youthful energy and sunny disposition.
Ibiscus Orchestra:
Keyboards and accordion – Rami Loukola, guitar – Topi Raussi, bass – Antti Samuelsson and drums – Jyrki Iivanainen.
Event cafe will be open in the park throughout the event.
Thu, Aug. 20 Movie Picnic at 9:00 p.m., the film starts at 10:00 p.m.
The program for the Lounaispuisto Movie Picnic will be announced later. DJ Korvakalevi will be spinning tunes, and there will be a workshop by Kehä Vihreä at 9:00 p.m. The film starts at 10:00 p.m.
