Summer is celebrated in Lounaispuisto in Jyväskylä through several fun events! Lounaispuiston kesä includes versatile programs for all ages from dancing, singing, concerts and more!

All events are free of charge unless stated otherwise.

Sun 28th of May 15:00 Jyväskylä Picnic: Yona

Jyväskylä Picnic is a birthday present from a 186 year old Jyväskylä, to its citizens. This year’s picnic will feature a performance by Jyväskylä’s own Yona. Lately Yona was also featured in the popular program Vain Elämää. Performing alongside her are Juho Kanervo (cello), Antti Kujanpää (keyboard), Juhani Grönroos (guitar), Tuomas Timonen (drums) and Antti Kivimäki (bass). The concert is a part of Yläkaupungin yö -festival.

The Day of Finnish Visual art – Helene Schjerfbeck’ birthday is being celebrated at the Church park (Kirkkopuisto).

Note! The venue has changed. The concert will take place in the Villa Rana Culture House in Blomstedt Hall (Seminaarinkatu 13). Villa Rana is located about 200 metres from the Lounaispuisto Park. At this summer night concert you can hear classic Iskelmä compositions from past decades. Singing these hits is singer songwriter and 2014 tango king Teemu Roivainen who is known for his amazing musical talent across many different genres. He will be performing alongside the Energia-band, who got their start in Jyväskylä. The orchestra has played with multiple Finnish star performers and have been doing gigs with Teemu for almost 10 years.

Tickets 10€ at verkkokauppa.jyvaskyla.fi or at the door (card payment only). Villa Rana has a smaller seating capacity, so it is advisable to buy a ticket in advance. Tickets can also be purchased at the door if the event is not sold out in advance.
