Fishing in the Jyväskylä Region

The Jyväskylä region in the heart of Finnish Lakeland is a fisherman’s and -woman’s dream with its foaming rapids and crystal-clear lakes. Päijänne, Keitele and Konnevesi are the largest of the many lakes dotting the landscape of the province of Central Finland. There are flowing waterways, with breath-taking white-water fishing spots here and there!

Fishing can be practiced in the Jyväskylä Region all year round since rivers and rapids flow freely also during the winter. Lake fishing changes its shape as the winter arrives: ice fishing is a form of fishing where a hole is drilled onto the ice and fishing is carried out through the hole.
