Craft Museum of Finland and National Costume Centre

Located right in the centre of Jyväskylä, the Craft Museum of Finland is within easy reach. Its size is perfect for the whole family.

The basic exhibitions on the ground floor present traditional and modern handicraft by men and women and Finnish folk costumes. There is also the Sense Space where you can try what different objects feel like, try on different pieces of clothing and accessories, and listen to the sounds of handicrafts. The Journey in Time exhibition on the second floor presents texts and images of handicrafts from over 2,000 years.

In addition to the basic exhibitions, the museum offers many smaller exhibitions. We understand handicrafts in a very broad sense, and our exhibitions display different handicraft techniques, skilled talents and also works of art.

The second floor of the museum includes an open workshop where children and adults can test their skills and make their own souvenirs.

The museum shop offers products from Finnish artists for larger and smaller needs.
