One of Jyväskylä’s most famous landmarks, the magnificently lit Ylistö Bridge is a 208-metre-long bicycle and pedestrian bridge connecting Mattilanniemi and Ylistönmäki and the two campuses of the University of Jyväskylä. The bridge over Lake Jyväsjärvi in the southwest part of the city looks magnificent, especially at night, with its lights and their reflections of the lake.
The bridge is part of the beautiful Rantaraitti lakeside route around Lake Jyväsjärvi. The end of the bridge closer to the city centre starts next to Hotel Alba and the lush Mattilanniemi Park, while the Ylistönmäki end is next to the University of Jyväskylä Nanoscience Center.
