The Valklampi boardwalk takes you across the marsh surrounding Iso Valklampi and Pieni Valklampi ponds. The nature trail is about 4 kilometres in length altogether, about 1.5 kilometres of which are boarded. The trail also crosses the hill ridge that surrounds the marsh.
You should budget at least a few hours to traverse the trail. In wet weather, the boardwalk can be slippery. Good quality outdoor footwear are necessary on this trail, owing to the potential slipperiness of the boardwalk, especially in wet weather.

Starting point/end point
The starting point of the trail is at the edge of the old Joutsa sporting field (you can access the road to the field from Kangasniementie road). An information board marks the start of the trail.
