At Himos in Jämsä, you can ski with the kids on southern Finland’s largest slopes. The diverse selection of slopes offers challenges for experts as well as gentler hills for first-timers. The whole family will enjoy HimosLumila and you can also go down the hill with a sledge or tubing ring!
In the Häkärinteet Ski Resort in Hankasalmi, the whole family can enjoy a fun-filled day on the slopes. Thirteen ski runs, a SnowPark, an off-piste slope and family-friendly areas including the Children’s Slope, Little Adventure and a wave track offer winter fun for visitors of all ages. Beyond skiing, Häkärinteet provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, from snowshoeing and thrilling snow tubing to cross-country skiing on a well-maintained network of trails.
Located close to the centre of Äänekoski, the Äänemäki Ski Centre welcomes visitors with three floodlit slopes, a children’s slope, a SnowPark and jumps and rails for more adventurous skiers and snowboarders. Families can also enjoy the sledging hill, while the on-site lean-to shelter is a perfect place to take a break and grill sausages between runs.
In Jyväskylä, you can go skiing just five kilometers from the city center. At Laajis, first-timers head to the ski school or Lumimaa, the more skilled show off in the parks and those who enjoy cruising glide down the longer slopes. Lumimaa also has its own hill for sledders.
Holiday experiences with children
