Administrative and Cultural Center 1964-

Alvar Aalto also prepared designs for the city centre of Jyväskylä. Of these designs, the police headquarters, municipal office building and city theatre have been implemented. The second phase of the administrative centre, which also includes a sculptural council tower, remains to be carried out. Aalto’s designs include a “people’s square” between the tower, theatre and old town hall.

City theatre, opening hours:

The entrance hall and foyer are open to visitors. Please note! The Theatre House is currently under renovation and is completely closed to visitors. The Theatre House will reopen in autumn 2026.
