Don’t worry about schedules or times! Kullervo will rap on the AR (augmented reality) Cow Trail at Konnevesi Local Museum, even at 30 degrees below zero!
White milk mugs in the forest guide the AR adventurer along the museum’s Cow Trail in all seasons. With the aid of a smart phone, you can take a peek into the past of our native cows and listen to cattle calls, milking songs or even a magic spell recited as rap. You will learn about the pastoral culture of a bygone world. On the Cow Trail, you will see, for example, the early beginnings of Lascaux’s cave painting or Gallen-Kallela’s The Curse of Kullervo.
The smokehouse, built in the 1700s, is the heart of the museum. Around it lies a typical local courtyard setting with its buildings. A ‘gene bank’ of local perennials, useful plants and a folk healer’s “pill bench” offer the visitor the freshest things to see.
The Local Museum is open from mid-June until mid-August, and in other seasons by arrangement.
