Splash in the spa and in the fun water parks

The culmination of a holiday – or even a working day, is a warm jacuzzi and water slides. The Peurunka Spa and the Laajavuori Spa provide comprehensive premises for a spa day for the whole family. A relaxing spa weekend with a spouse can be enjoyed at Hotel Keurusselkä Spa.

The AaltoAlvari water sports centre, on the other hand, offers a variety of different pools for both more avid swimmers and young children, and if you’re looking for something more chill, you can relax in the jacuzzies in the spa section.

When the weather is warm and sunny, it’s no fun staying indoors. Swimming in hot weather refreshes the mind and body, but the Gr8 Wake and Peurunka water parks make it even more fun. Pretend that the water is lava or ride a slide straight into the lake. Climb and bounce in the waves along the tracks or compete with a friend to see who is faster. The water parks are bound to make even an adult feel like a child again.

Go in the sauna and diving in the lake

Relax by going in the sauna, swimming, and sunbathing on Lake Jyväsjärvi, on the Eden Sauna Raft, M/s Löyly Sauna Raft or the Selipaatti Sauna Raft. Gather your friends together and jump straight from the sauna into the fresh Lake Jyväsjärvi, and let the skipper lead you on an unforgettable trip on the waves.

In addition to traditional sauna rafts, Jyväskylä offers the magnificent Huvilautta, which takes things up a notch by featuring a sauna in a glass igloo in the middle of the lake. This unforgettable experience is atmospheric on a whole new level and does the Sauna Region justice.

Jämsä’s hidden gem, Saunakylä, gathers people from around the world to experience the traditional smoke sauna culture. Tour the heated saunas and partake in historical experiences in a super Finnish milieu. These saunas will definitely not leave anyone cold.

A morning sauna after a walk or an afternoon sauna before dinner can be enjoyed at the Sataman Viilu situated in the Lutakko harbour of Jyväskylä. The modern premises of Sataman Viilu and the magnificent lake landscape attract both locals and tourists to bathe in the sauna, and as it is open every day, you won’t need to stress about scheduling your visit.

Have a wild adventure full of water activities

Have you ever wanted to know what it’s like to walk on water? Now you can find out, as Vesileikit has introduced a new activity to the Jyväskylä Region, in which you can go inside a bubble and run freely along the lake’s surface. However, if you feel like you need a little more speed, you can easily rent a jet ski from the same place. Jet skis can also be rented from Jyväskylä Alfa Rentals or Jkljet.

Are you already missing winter sports? You know, skiing is not just for winter – just get some skis and head out to the lake. Gr8 Wake pulls you along a cable string while you whizz and rush along the tracks of Lake Jyväsjärvi.

If you’re still wanting some more excitement, Varjola offers, among other things, rafting along the whirlpools of the Kuusankoski rapid. There is no point in hoping to stay dry while rafting.
