By train to Jyväskylä Region

By train to the Jyväskylä Region from elsewhere in Finland
VR’s InterCity trains run directly to Jyväskylä through the popular railway hubs of Tampere and Pieksämäki.
You can get from Helsinki to Jyväskylä in less than 3.5 hours and from Tampere in 1.5 hours. If you fly to Helsinki, you can easily get to Jyväskylä by train directly from the airport with one connecting train. Long-distance trains arrive at Jyväskylä Matkakeskus travel centre, which is located right next to the centre of Jyväskylä.
Long-distance trains pass through Jämsä on their way to Jyväskylä and continue to Hankasalmi.
By train in Jyväskylä Region
Rail connections enable train travel in Jyväskylä Region from Jyväskylä to Keuruu, Petäjävesi, Hankasalmi and Jämsä. There are daily IC trains from Jyväskylä to Jämsä and Hankasalmi, which cover the distance in about half an hour. You can easily reach Keuruu and Petäjävesi from Jyväskylä on a railcar. In Jyväskylä, trains arrive and depart from Matkakeskus travel centre.
