Air connections to the Jyväskylä Region

Finnair has flights from Helsinki to Jyväskylä, so you can also continue your trip to Jyväskylä by air. The flight takes less than an hour. Jyväskylä airport is located in Tikkakoski, and you can travel the 23 kilometres to the Jyväskylä city centre either with the buses travelling via the airport or by taxi.

There is no transport from the airport to Jyväskylä, for example, so a taxi is the best option, and if you are in a hurry, it is a good idea to book your taxi in advance either by phone  0100 6900 or with the JYTAKSI mobile app: App Store or Google Play

Several airlines fly to Helsinki. If you fly to Helsinki, you can get on the Jyväskylä train connecting easily directly from the airport with just one change of trains. By train, you can also travel to Hankasalmi, Petäjävesi, Keuruu or Jämsä, for example. You can take a bus from the Helsinki airport to Jyväskylä and you can also rent a car at the airport. Please note that Ryanair flies to Lappeenranta, where you can continue towards Jyväskylä by bus or by a rental car.

You can fly to Tampere with Ryanair, AirBaltic and Finnair. The airport is located in the municipality of Pirkkala, circa 17 km from Tampere city centre.  You can travel from Tampere to Jyväskylä by bus, by train or in a rental car.

You can also fly to Turku, for example, and jump on a bus, a train or a rental car.
