By bus to Jyväskylä Region

Jyväskylä and the rest of Jyväskylä Region can be easily reached by bus from many different cities. Bus connections are versatile thanks to the central location. Bus travel is also cheap and convenient. You can find the timetables and fares for long-distance buses on the Matkahuolto website.

Arriving by bus to Jyväskylä Region

Jyväskylä is easily accessible by direct bus connections from many cities in Finland, such as Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Kuopio and Oulu. Long-distance buses arrive at Jyväskylä Matkakeskus Travel Centre, which is located right next to the centre of Jyväskylä. 

The easiest way to find bus tickets and timetables is on the Matkahuolto website. The low-budget bus company Onnibus also operates to Jyväskylä. See Onnibus timetables and fares here. 

It is also possible to travel to Jyväskylä with Flixbus. Flixbus routes from Hamburg to Joensuu and from Krakow to Rovaniemi stop in Jyväskylä.

Moving around by bus in Jyväskylä Region

Both long-distance and local buses provide convenient transport between and within the municipalities of Jyväskylä Region. Jyväskylä’s local transport Linkki operates in Jyväskylä, Laukaa, Muurame, Äänekoski, Hankasalmi and Petäjävesi. Find out more about Linkki and local transport in other municipalities here.

Outdoor Express bus to national parks

Outdoor Express takes you from the center of Jyväskylä by bus directly to nature and back in the summer.

Operating on weekends during the summer season, Outdoor Express offers a quick connection from the center of Jyväskylä to the Pyhä-Häkki, Etelä-Konnevesi, and Leivonmäki National Parks.
